NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HCA Healthcare (NYSE:HCA) announced today Jeff Cohen will assume the role of Senior Vice President, Government Relations effective October 1, 2019. He will be replacing Vic Campbell, who will retire February 29, 2020.

“We’re excited to have Jeff join the HCA Healthcare executive team to lead our Government Relations activities,” said Sam Hazen, CEO. “Having spent the majority of his career in Washington, DC, Jeff brings a wealth of experience and leadership that will ensure our company is well-represented in legislative discussions at both the federal and state levels.”

Cohen has spent the last 20 years with the Federation of American Hospitals, most recently as Executive Vice President of Public Affairs where he manages all advocacy, public affairs and communications for the association. Campbell is retiring after a 47-year career with HCA Healthcare. He joined the company’s finance department in 1972 and established the company’s investor relations function in 1976 leading that area until October of 2018. Campbell was named Senior Vice President in 1994, just one year before being named one of the “Top 10 Investor Relations Officers” in the nation by Institutional Investor magazine.

In 1997, Campbell was tapped to lead HCA Healthcare’s Government Relations team. A long-time resident of Nashville, Campbell is active in various community organizations including being a member of the Nashville Sports Council and Music City Bowl. He was also a founding member of PENCIL, a local organization that provides support to public education.

“We thank Vic for his dedicated service to HCA Healthcare over the years, and we appreciate his many contributions to our success and growth during his time with the company,” said Hazen. “He has been a long-time colleague and exceptional representative of the organization. Over the years, he has been an invaluable counselor to the CEOs of the company. We wish him all the best in retirement.”
