Jon Foster is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Nashville, Tennessee-based HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare services.
A 22-year veteran of HCA Healthcare, Foster was appointed COO on January 1, 2023 after serving as president of HCA Healthcare’s American Group since 2011. His previous role as president of the American Group included 91 hospitals across Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and the United Kingdom, and included approximately one-half of the company’s revenue.
Prior to 2011, Foster served as president and CEO of Austin, Texas-based St. David’s HealthCare, a seven-hospital healthcare system with 60 locations throughout the central Texas region. Before coming to HCA Healthcare, Foster served as the executive vice president of operations for the Baptist Health System of East Tennessee. His career began in 1986 at the Methodist Healthcare System in Houston, Texas, where he served until 1991.
Foster holds a BBA degree from Baylor University and an MS degree in Healthcare Management from Trinity University.
